Vicario interview shows why he's the keeper for Postecoglou
Like his manager, the Spurs goalkeeper has shown the desire to play at the very top
It was a throwaway line at the end of a club interview that most players might just have played along with, but not Guglielmo Vicario.
Spurs had just beaten Bournemouth 3-1 to end 2023 on a high and having just paid tribute to the departing Hugo Lloris, the Italian was asked before he went back to the dressing room to name his favourite save of the season so far since arriving in north London.
With barely a pause, he looked up and said: "I think the one in the next game."
That brought laughs from those interviewing him, who pointed out some of the string of amazing saves Vicario has made since joining from Empoli, most recently a stunning flying stop to prevent ex-Spurs man Arnaut Danjuma from scoring for Everton just before Christmas.
Vicario was not moved.
