Tottenham Hotspur's past instances of making the headlines with alleged manager meetings mean photos of Daniel Levy and Mauricio Pochettino seemingly having a chat in a local cafe are going to catch the eye.

Social media platforms on Tuesday were awash with a photo that appeared to show both the Tottenham chairman and his former manager chatting away together over tea at a table outside Limes Cafe in Hadley Wood.

In today's world of AI fakery or old photos resurfacing as new ones, it was easy enough to dismiss the image at first glance. Then another photo popped up on Wednesday from the same setting, showing Levy, Pochettino, Allan Dixon - Spurs' team manager and former player liaison officer, as well as another person, all posing for a photo.

Social media did its usual work as football fans launched into detective mode. Some of it was right and some of it appears to be wrong…
