Opportunity knocks for two youngsters after Van de Ven injury
Postecoglou's defensive crisis could present opportunity for two Spurs players
Sometimes from despair opportunity emerges, and two young defenders at Tottenham Hotspur may just be sensing that right now.
It was a sight nobody wanted to see on Monday night, Micky van de Ven pulling up while sprinting and falling to the floor, holding the back of his right leg and screaming in agony.
"It's too early but looking at Micky you're thinking it's a pretty significant one so you'd assume he'll be out for a little while," said Ange Postecoglou after the chaotic defeat to Chelsea.
It looked to be the young Dutchman's hamstring and he was out last year for two-and-a-half months with a hamstring injury, missing 12 games in all for Wolfsburg.
Spurs will let the swelling subside before scanning the injury to decide what must happen next and whether surgery is required.
